The dialogue was between Joe and ross, the main characters of the TV show. Joe asks how much Ross weighs, and Ross replies that he has gained some holiday weight.
这段对话是《老友记》的主要角色Joe 和Ross在被反锁到阳台后，沿消防梯下楼时的对话。Joe需要接住Ross，发现Ross很沉，于是反问他到底有多重。总是有偶像包袱的Ross不好意思地说，他在节日期间长胖了，还没有完全恢复原来的体重。
那么 holiday weight 如何理解呢？
首先，我们来拆分词组，holiday表示节日、假期；weight表示重量、体重。对话中carry a little holiday weight 字面上表示携带一点假期的体重。
其实也不难理解，在假期，人们的心态比较放松，会放开顾虑品尝美食以犒劳自己，同时聚餐机会较多，饮料酒水也少不了，因此往往会摄入更多的卡路里，每逢佳节胖三斤真是放之四海而皆准啊~

weight的常见搭配有：
假期体重增长 gain / put on some holiday weight
减掉假期增长的体重 lose/shed the holiday weight
比如：
Looks like youput on a little weightover the holidays.
看来你在假期里长胖了一点。
Yeah, I’m considering joining a gym toshed my holiday weight.
是的，我正在考虑去健身房减减肥。
再比如：
Let’s go shopping. I’m toostoutto fit into my old clothes!
我们去购物吧。 我太胖了，穿不上我的旧衣服了！
